Wishlyst keeps what you save on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server of ours that your lists pass through.
The short version. We do not collect your wishes, your lists or your contacts — there is nowhere for them to go. We cannot see what you saved or what you bought for whom. The only thing that ever leaves your iPhone is the receipt for a subscription, if you buy one, and that goes to the service that checks it is still valid.
There is no account, no server of ours and no cloud copy of your lists. Two consequences worth knowing: it does not sync between your devices, and removing the app removes what it stored. Your iPhone's own encrypted backup is what carries the data to a new phone.
If you choose to add people from Contacts, the app asks for permission first and then copies only the name and the birthday of the people you pick, plus an identifier used to avoid adding the same person twice.
Photos you attach to a wish are picked by you and stored with that wish. The app does not browse your photo library and does not upload photos.
When you add a wish from a screenshot, the text in the picture is recognised on your device, by the operating system's own text recognition. The picture is not sent anywhere for processing.
When you paste a product link, the app fetches that page — the same request your browser would make — and reads the information the shop publishes about it: the title, the picture, sometimes the price. The request goes to the shop, not to us. The shop can see that a request was made, as it can for any visitor.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Payment details are entered in Apple's own interface and are never seen by this app. We receive no card information and no name or address from a purchase.
To know whether your subscription is still active, the app uses Apphud, a subscription service. Apphud receives your App Store receipt and a device identifier — nothing else. It never sees your wishes, your lists, the people you added or your photos: those stay on your iPhone. This is the only thing in the app that talks to a service other than Apple.
Sharing a list, a wish or your profile creates a link, and the information travels inside the link itself — nothing is uploaded first. Whoever receives the link can open what it carries; nobody else can, because there is nothing stored anywhere to find. Nothing becomes public by default, and nothing about you is discoverable by strangers.
The draw happens on the organiser's device. The result travels as a single link in which every participant's pair is sealed separately, so a phone can open only its own pair — reading the whole message tells you nothing. No participant list, no pairing and no message reaches us, because there is nowhere for it to go.
One honest limitation: the organiser's device performed the draw, so the organiser could in principle see who got whom. The app neither stores nor displays that, but it is a property of the app, not of mathematics.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone. There is no copy elsewhere to delete, and no account to close.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
